I don’t know about you, but finding a good foundation has always been a struggle for me.
Turns out, I’m not the only one—today I read an article by Victoria Beckham where she
admitted that even she couldn’t find the perfect foundation. That made me feel so validated because it’s exactly what pushed me to create my own product in the first place.
For years, I battled with sensitive skin. No matter what foundation I tried, my skin would
react—redness, irritation, flare-ups, breakouts. It got to the point where I was wearing
foundation like a mask, desperate to cover up my skin issues, only to make them worse.
Back then, most brands weren’t even thinking about what went into their formulas. My
mum’s dermatologist bills will tell you just how bad it was—I tried everything and nothing
worked.
That’s why creating our complexion product has been such a personal mission. I wanted
something skin-friendly, lightweight, and genuinely good for your skin—not just makeup that sits on top. I drove our formulator mad making sure every ingredient was safe, gentle, and non-irritating, but it was worth it. Now I have the confidence of knowing exactly what goes onto my face and into my clients’ makeup bags.
I often say to clients: you invest so much in your skincare routine—luxury moisturisers,
high-end serums, the works—but have you ever stopped to think about what’s in your
foundation? It’s the product that sits on your skin all day, every day. And yet, it’s so often
overlooked.
That’s why I love what Victoria Beckham said in her recent interview:
“I get photographed a lot, and the perfect foundation was always the one product I couldn’t find. I’ve never found [one with] the correct amount of coverage, and that treats and doesn’t irritate my skin. A lot of brands claim to have skin care benefits in their foundation—which they do—but I wanted to take it to another level.”
I couldn’t agree more. Foundation should enhance your skin, not compromise it. For me,
developing our own formula wasn’t about grabbing something off the shelf—it was about
creating something exceptional. Something I had always wished existed when I was
younger.
So, thank you Victoria Beckham, for shining a light on what so many of us have felt for
years. It’s reassuring to know even beauty icons have faced the same struggles. And while
I’ll let you be the judge, I truly believe we’re on the same mission: foundation that loves your skin as much as you do.
